About the Artist:

An artist painting a landscape of a lake with mountains in the background from a boat or dock, holding a paintbrush near the painting.

JOHN KATERBERG is a Canadian artist who works primarily in the realism genre. The work of this self taught artist has won awards and acclaim. His work has been displayed in galleries across Canada. Collectors are international - his art hangs in various countries in North America and Europe. Some of his work has been published as limited editions. He has been an instructor for a college course in realistic drawing and painting.

Born in Southern Ontario, Canada, Katerberg painted rural scenes and nature. Moving to British Columbia in 1990, his artwork focused on the landscape and wildlife around him. He is an authentic painter of Canadiana.

He also paints people. "Being able to create likenesses keeps an artist sharp."

He works primarily in oil, but his art also includes other media: acrylic, watercolour, gouache, graphite, and mixed media. Usually, his originals are painted on hardboard panels.

Once again, after 20 years of living in British Columbia, John Katerberg resides in Elora Ontario, where his artwork continues, inspired by the places, people, and things in his life.
