A Canada Goose family in the water of Reflection Lake.

It is amazing how the parents keep their goslings safely between them - Instinct works like a powerful magnet. 

Reflection Lake is at the edge of my Rocky Mountain home town. A slough in the Rocky Mountain trench, alongside the Columbia River, it serves well for migratory birds on their north-south travels.

In the winter, the locals come to Reflection Lake with snow-shovels and clear the ice for skating in the typical Canadian way.
