Spring Princess

Original: oil on hardboard panel 19 x 22 3/4” (sold)

A mule deer doe in Canadian Rocky Mountain forest. This one was shedding it’s winter coat, which created  textures reminiscent to a flowing lace scarf and cape.

Mule deer are named for their large ears that resemble those of mules. This type of deer is found in western North America.

Deer have eyes that exude gentleness. ‘Mulies’ frequented my property, and seeing them there always brought a sense of peace and calm. When deer were grazing, the neighbourhood was all good.
