Echoes of the Evening
Original: oil on hardboard panel 18 x 48” (sold)A bull elk bugles toward Chancellor Peak in Yoho National Park. He stands in the valley of the Kicking Horse River as alpenglow splays across Vaux mountain and Chancellor. The light show signals that the evening sunlight will soon fade after it eclipses on westward mountain peaks. The bull elk has one last chance to find a mate on this day in the fall rutting season.
The artist had the privilege of living in this area for many years. Scenes like this were familiar, but never taken for granted.
